Day 53 - When Foxie cleared the decks (or when preparation was key).
We took advantage of the brighter weather today and had volunteers working outside clearing the footpaths around The Lodge and the gravel areas at the rear of Foxlease House. Although it was bright outside it was definitely frosty-freezy in temperature - as evidenced by the exceptionally thick ice leaning on Volunteer Ruth's boot, found round the back of Foxlease House (which we should perhaps call the 'Ice Palace' until warmer weather!).
We also had our Volunteer fencing expert, Kester, pop by to help us scope out how to get the fencing up the start of the driveway, safe, repaired and looking lovely soon. He is also kindly helping us with some of our machinery on site, for which we are grateful!
We had more painting, snagging works and final cleaning in The Lodge, ahead of the 24-Hour Sing next week and we're preparing raffle tickets for the 'Golden Ticket' draw tomorrow.
We had more safety film from the Mt. Repairs element of the Amazon Mountain Range (thank you Foxie's Fairy Godparents) being applied to the doors in The Barn to make them safe and that work is nearly complete thanks to our dedicated Volunteer Philippa's efforts.
We had policy writing and paper newsletter mailings being prepared for posting in the Site Office, for those who don't email, and our expert Volunteer Draper Team continuing preparations to the curtains for The Barn, ready for them to be re-hung when decorations in there are complete.
Paws crossed for more sunshine on site tomorrow, Love Foxie x
