It was a frosty morning today at Foxlease Park and we started the day talking a walk to remove the spare signage and the chair at the main gate to make things a bit tidier.  Foxie stopped by an icy puddle on the drive, briefly considered ice skating, and decided against it, and then paused to wave at the deer relaxing in the neighbour's field (see photos).

The day stayed sunny, although very chilly, which meant the team were able to pull everything out of the laundry and give it a good clean - the Amazon mountain range, Mt. cleaning in particular, was stowed safely on the shelves, and we only discovered one leaking pipe during the clean up process, with plans in place to resolve that soon and a temporary fix (including a well-placed bowl) in the meantime.

Today's winning item on the daily scavenger hunt was lightbulbs (they're in the cellar, in case we ask in the future!) and some of the team spent a large portion of the day doing a few thousand steps more than were strictly necessary across the site due to key-related confusion, either taking the wrong key or not taking the right one...which, although they sound the similar, are not the same mistake.

The volunteer team were sustained in their hard work and many steps by a delicious banana and chocolate chip loaf cake, with more left for tomorrow (our thanks to Jocelyn's star baker at home!).  There was also lots of computer-based activity and administrative sorting going on in the Site Office, with one of our volunteers sorting through our inherited paperwork to ensure that we know what we have and to tell us what we don't know we don't know.

By the end of the day we'd identified some more jobs for the list, finished cleaning the stairs near the site office with The Rug Doctor and finished cleaning and sorting the Accessible Suite.  We found the shorter cycle on the singing washing machine and have a large number of curtains from The Lodge drying on frames in the Site Office - we've managed to convince the foxie crew not to make a blanket/curtain fort so far, but no promises for tomorrow!

More order restored tomorrow, Love Foxie x
