Another sunny day on site and our first day with a larger volunteer team.  Once we'd managed to navigate site access to let them in.... (updated temporary signage now in place) our six volunteers arrived for the day and had their health and safety induction, signed their lives away in our Volunteer Agreements and donned High Visibility Jackets for the, slightly slippery, walk over to The Lodge.   They made fantastic progress for us through the course of the day inventorying the contents of The Lodge, upstairs and downstairs, and logging for us things which need particular attention during the next phase of The Lodge's works, cleaning and repairing things.

The site is covered in lots of leaves at the moment, so they are on the list to clear when we next have an outside team on site and the mossy paths are to be cleaned when our pressure washer arrives, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

Our Volunteer Coordinator Team has been very busy responding to offers of support, with a number of corporate Volunteering groups ready to come and help us out in the New Year, along with many wonderful individual supporters offering us their time.

No more mud buckets today but the recent wet weather made for some muddy boots on site and we spotted some lovely deer strolling about on Nightingale campsite (formerly Henry Knight) when we were locking up the store (see photo - you might need to zoom) - we'll have to break the news to them soon that their quiet days are about to becoming a lot louder from February as we're thrilled to say that bookings are climbing steadily!

Foxie ended the day having a little rest on The Lodge's curtains which are piled-up ready for washing in the new singing washing machine later this week - we'll let you know what tune it sings us this time...we suspect it doesn't know "Somewhere there's a forest", but perhaps the Foxlease Singing Circle can teach it when they are back next year....

More cleaning action tomorrow, some repairs and final preparations for our raffle draw and Lyndhurst event on Sunday, Love Foxie x
