Day 40 - The day Foxie ironed whilst the iron was hot!

Another Barn-focussed day on site today and another busy day for The Singing Washing Machine who is making short and tuneful work continuing to wash the curtains for The Barn ready for ironing and re-hanging early next year.  Precision application of the safety film on the single-glazed windows continued - it's pane-stakingly slow but important progress and we've added more of the film to the Amazon Wish List so that we can finish off that job when that is hopefully purchased for us and arrived.

Foxie visited the Amazon Mountain Range to extract one of the new ironing boards and irons, and started work on ironing some of the curtains to be rehung in The Gatehouse.  After those, we've still got lots more ironing left for some of our ironing-loving volunteers arriving in the next couple of weeks to volunteer.  The curtain tracks have been cleaned in the various buildings as the curtains have been taken down and so once Foxie's Big Ironing Event is complete we should be in a good place to rehang them.

The Rug Doctor was also back at work after its December break and busy in The Barn, removing more layers of grime from the carpets in there as part of the first deep clean.  The Barn really is benefitting from the attention it has had over the December period and the difference in there compared to its state before the December volunteers got to work is spectacular.  We're loving seeing it taking shape as the list of repair and improvement jobs is underway.

We also had notification from our volunteer Gordon that he successfully collected the first of our Wickes Community Scheme donations today for us from the Southampton branch.  If you're near Fareham, Hedge End or another branch of Wickes and can ask whether they have Community Scheme budget left to use by 31st December then please do so on our behalf and we can let you know what's on our wishlist of bigger things.

An army of volunteers due on site tomorrow, the most so far, Love Foxie x
