Day 26 - When Foxie met the Pollyfilla and the regiment assembled.
Our Magician Electrician PAT Tested lots of things yesterday in between helping us try to stop a leak in Foxlease House and reception now looks very regimented - with the Henrys, Hetties and Henrietta assembled and in working order - with Foxie leading and commanding the charge, of course! Henrietta made her way up to The Lodge with our volunteers today who were finishing our first clean downstairs for us. They also then helped Hazel to replant some of the planters in front of The Barn ready for some colour to appear in the New Year!
Alison and Hazel set to to clear lots of things still needing PAT Testing into our designated "to be tested" room in Foxlease House and boy is that pile growing, but it is helping us make sure that we know was is needed, what works and what doesn't and its keeping our volunteers safe and future visitors safe and compliant.
Meanwhile Emma (and Foxie) went on a mission to remove all the abandoned screws and raw plugs they could find in the rooms we're currently using in Foxlease House and then we donned gloves and armed with Polyfilla and a spatula from the Amazon Mountain we went on a second mission to fill the holes, particularly those in the office which we intend to use as a meeting room for now, whilst the Site Office is in use. It's not quite in its final form yet, but it's certainly a start and we'll continue with that project at some point next week. We've also moved some of the furniture around and put up our lovely site safety posters so that our volunteers can brush up on best practice as part of their induction. We're still not focussing on Foxlease House yet due to our other priorities but we are making sure it feels loved and trying to fix and shine up what we can when we have a spare minute or less volunteers on site.
We had other volunteers on site this afternoon progressing our special project - more on that soon.
Henrys, Hetties and Henrietta ready for more volunteers tomorrow, Love Foxie x
